CD132 is a 65–70 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the Ig superfamily that is encoded by the IL2RG (interleukin-2 receptor gamma) gene. CD132 is shared by the IL-2, IL-4, IL-7, IL-9, IL-15 and IL-21 receptor complexes and is broadly expressed on T and B lymphocytes, NK cells, monocytes, and granulocytes. Ligand binding is initiated through JAK/STAT signaling and induces tyrosine phosphorylation.
